ECB will print at the end of your CVS receipts. These can be used on a future transaction so make sure to save them. Or you can view, print and redeem your ExtraBucks Rewards online on CVS.com or on the CVS Pharmacy app (must be sent to your card to redeem).

Your answer didn’t answer my question. How do I redeem the ECBs at the register? I know when I have a paper coupon I hand that coupon to the person checking me out. How do I do the ECBs?

You can maximize your ECB rewards by aiming to earn more ExtraBucks on each transaction than you spend. For example, you can split your shopping trip into two transactions: buy one item that earns the most ExtraBucks, then use those ExtraBucks to buy another item in a separate transaction. This is called “rolling” your ECB and it is the best way to spend them because you’re keeping your overall OOP very low. You can continue to earn and roll your ExtraBucks, using them to pay for future purchases while earning even more. Hope this helps!

Hey Monica! You’re right, the ECB you earned can’t be used in the same transaction that you earned them but instead must be used on your next purchase. However, the key thing to remember is that the $8 ECBs are essentially “free money” that you’ll be earning. So, even though you paid $5.97 for the eye pencils, you’re still getting an additional $8 worth of value from the ECBs. That’s why it’s considered a moneymaker, you’re essentially getting more value than you paid for. Hope that explains it!

Ok so using your example on the eye pencil. I buy the three pencils use the coupons and pay $5.97 out of pocket right then. But will they take the $8 ECBs off right then also or am I supposed to use that on my next purchase? If I don’t get to use it he $8 ECBs right then I’m not really getting them for free, I’m actually paying the $5.97. Now what is the $2.03 moneymaker? Thanks Monica Layhew

Hi Mariana! There are digital manufacturer coupons. You can find them on the store’s website or inside their app. There are insert coupons too. You can get them from Sunday newspapers. Couponers like to collect these each week. The cheapest place to find them is Dollar Tree (if your store carries them).

If you want to learn how to coupon, here is our quick video tutorial that you may want to check out: http://www.freestufffinder.com/how-to-coupon/

Hi Angie! Extrabucks are reward that you can earn by purchasing specific items or spending a certain amount of money at CVS. These rewards can be used like cash towards future purchases or transactions. However, please note that you can’t use them in the same transaction that you earned them. I hope this answers your question.

I was wondering if the extra bucks money can be applied to the same transaction or if it’s not allowed? If so, is there a rule or policy that says you can only redeem the newly granted extra bucks money for your next transaction, because don’t the coupons print out after the transactions? Or I are these extra bucks able to be utilized only in the red machines? I still don’t know how it works. Whenever I have gotten extra bucks coupons it’s always been after I make a purchase, it prints out in my receipts.

You’re welcome! Just when you reach the checkout counter, you hand the cashier your coupon(s). The cashier scans them and puts them into the cash drawer. What happens next depends on the store, but this is the general process. Hope that helps!

Thanks so much for the helpful tips. I have a couple of questions–If you fulfill an ExtraBucks deal with the 98% rule, will it show as the deal not being met on the receipt, even though you are issued the Extrabuck? For example, will it say “Amount needed to reward 0.60” if you did a 98% rule on a $30 purchase? Thanks!

Hey Tayler! This is what I found in CVS coupon policy: “You’ll need to create a CVS.com account and attach your ExtraCare card. If you already have an ExtraCare card attached to your account, go to the ExtraCare page and click on the ExtraCare Rewards, Current Balances or Balance History tabs.” Hope that helps!

Hey Amber! Whatever the price it rings up at checkout is the price that they will count towards the $30 threashold. So in this BOGO case, it would be just one of them that counts. At CVS they have the 98% rule. So you just need to hit 98% of $30 to trigger the promotion.

Hope that helps!

I was wondering are we slow to use multiple ECB on 1 transaction but multiple item as long as the $ amount of ECB is not more than the total of the transaction?

It looks like they took it off of the white strips after the 15 off, 3 off 15 and 3 off teeth whitening. Idk but even then it would’ve been around 6.79 off.

If you buy 2 Head & shoulders products, it’s best to use 2 cvs coupons. The 98% rule won’t apply to coupons, you need to spend the exact amount shown on the coupon. Hope this helps

Hi Bobbie! Their system is weird and I want to say yes, you can use all three coupons and get 4 for $2 but these dollar off coupons don’t always work properly for me. I’d suggest using the $4/$12 coupon first, then hand the cashier the rest of the coupons. But keep in mind, these coupons come off differently, it’s weird lol

I forgot about these other coupons. I want to buy a Head and Shoulders product for $9.99. I have two $3 off Head and Shoulders CVS coupons and two $2 off Head and Shoulders CVS coupons. Can I use all four coupons even though the coupon values will exceed the product value by 1¢ (basically, I have $10 in coupons for a $9.99 product)?

Does the 98% rule apply to dollar off coupons, or is it just strictly for ECB deals? I have a $3 off $12 oral care coupon, but my total will be $11.96 and this offer is not earning ECBs. Will I be able to use this coupon even though I fall short of the coupon threshold by 4¢?

Thank you in advance! I am tired of embarrassing myself at the register when the coupons don’t come off.

Kotex Liners are on sale this week 2 for $6.

I have a $4 off $12 Kotex CVS coupon and (2) $3 off 2 Kotex MFR coupons.

If I buy 4 Kotex, then my total will be $12 exact before taxes. Can I use the $4 off $12 and the two $3 MFR coupons because my total will be $12 BEFORE MFR coupons. Or does my total need to be $12 after all discounts are taken off?

I really hope I can use the $4 off $12 coupon with my two $3 MFR coupons, making it $2 for 4 packages!

Hi Adriana! I’m not sure, I don’t think it’s possible to have the same coupon on the app once you printed. It’s only possible to send to your card digitally and the red box will print what you have already sent to card. Just a summary of what coupons you have clipped

I have been noticing that my ECB are showing on my CVS app. And it lets me send it to my card (clip it). At first I was confused, I thought it was giving me double the ECB or just extra just because. So I also noticed that when I scanned my card at “the red box” soon after those same coupons showed on my app. Is this something new? Please help. Thank you in advance.

Hi Tina! Do you know if paper CRTs can be used by other accounts? I found a stash of great CRT on the red box at my store. I have an issue with my account where I haven’t gotten CRTs for months despite multiple calls to customer service and weekly shopping at CVS. So if love to use some of these crts but don’t want to break any rules!

Hi Tina!

Exactly, I have no idea which item it took 40% off of. I would have expected it to be the Crest 3D but then it would have been a bigger discount than $6.01. CVS couponing is not what it used to be…

So my issue is, how did they calculate $6.01 for my 40% coupon. $6.01 is 40% of $15.02 and none of my items calculate to $15.02 before or after the application of coupons. And I had a (send to card, non-MFR) coupon of $2 off $6 Listerine mouthwash, or any other mouthwash but it was was NOT applied.

Also, I emailed CVS these questions and they responded via email as follows:
“After your order was totaled the CVS Point of Sale system applied your coupons appropriately. Our cashiers do not have control over the order in which coupons are applied to purchases.

CVS reserves the right to process coupons in any order. For information regarding the coupon policy, please visit http://www.cvs.com/bizcontent/general/help/coupon-policy.pdf.”

Which didn’t answer any of my questions…any idea?

Hi Christine! I would definitely recommend keeping all your CRT and instant coupons because you never know when you need them. I don’t have a preference for digital or paper coupons, but I can see how sending the coupons to my card may be helpful if I tend to lose receipts lol. It really depends on personal preference! If you decide you want to go with paper coupons, you don’t need to change anything – just print them out. I hope this helps!

Hi, Tina!
Yes, my instant coupon for everyone. My didn’t print when I did myself. But I just realized that the manager printed for new crt and instant coupon for this week. But cashier told it is not mine. So I left all my crt and instant coupon on the shopping cart and came home. It was my coupon because I checked my app. App said I printed it. So I called customer service they said that once I printed, they can’t reissue my coupon. Bad luck!!!
I have question whichone is better digital app coupon or paper coupon from redbox or receipts? I have digital app coupon “send to the card”. But I don’t have choice for reprint… If paper coupon is better better how to change?
Thank you Tina..

Hi Christine! Sorry you’re having issues! I would try deleting the app and reinstalling it to see if that makes a difference. Do you mean the coupons that you print at the CVS machine when you asked about the weekly instant coupon? If so, then try flagging an employee to see if they can fix it. Let me know if this works for you, my friend!

Hey Katherine!

Congrats on trying couponing! I’m proud of you for taking action!

Your total for all shampoos is $34.44. The two coupons $14 + $18 is $32. So technically accordingly to their policy you are allowed to use the CRTs. Even tho your can’t stack them on the same items, but you are buying enough to meet both coupons combined.

However, sometimes the computer may not allow it, even tho you are following their coupon policy. I would give it a try and see if it works. I’m guessing it should be fine. If not, just point out to the cashier the math. Let me know what happens!

You could also split the transaction into two. Get the three $4.99 shampoos and use the $4/$14 CRT.

Hi Tina! Thank you for the prompt response. So the coupon was for $2 off toothpaste OR toothbrush and I bought a toothbrush that was on sale for 89 cents (photo: https://ibb.co/cNWHrYF ). The coupon is a MFR coupon and does not specify a brand/Line of Colgate for the toothpaste or toothbrush. Photo: https://ibb.co/rvccPSH

Hi Lea! As per CVS Coupon Policy, you would have to spend a total of $55 ($40+$15) in order to use both coupons. However, some registers would accept both coupons even if you spend only $40.

Hi Rachel! The coupon is supposed to work on an item that is less than the coupon value. Usually Colgate coupons are for select varieties like Optic While, Total, Enamel Health and more, and they are not 89 cents. Maybe the toothpaste that was on sale was a different variety not listed on the coupon

I do have one question if I have a $10 off $40 CRT and a $3 off $15 shampoo coupon on the app, would I be able to use both coupons for $13 off?

Thanks again!

I shop at my local CVS in Oahu, HI (called Longs Drugs). I had a manufacturer’s coupon for $2 off a Colgate toothpaste or toothbrush. Toothbrushes were on sale for 89 cents each. The register at check out would not apply the coupon and when the manager came she said, “your coupon can’t be used because it’s for $2 and the toothbrush is only 89 cents.” Aren’t they supposed to adjust coupon MFR coupon to 89 cents so my toothbrush is free? Thanks for your advice!

Hi Angel! You don’t have to spend them at once, purchases track at the bottom of your receipt so you can do multiple transactions!

Or can you break them into multiple and the ecb trigger once you reach the threshold?

Thanks.
